The side splitter theorem

In ∆ABC, DE is parallel to side BC. Find the length of CE if AD = 9, DB = 5 and AE = 6.

In the figure above, Find the length of CE if AB = 12, DB = 4 and AC = 9.

∆ABC and ∆ACD have a common side AC. EF || BC and EG || CD. Prove that
